Veteran actor Dilip Kumar left for his heavenly abode on Wednesday morning at the age of 98 after a prolonged illness. Amongst prominent celebs who visited the actor’s home to pay their last respects was Shabana Azmi. The veteran actress was among the first to arrive at Saira Banu’s place and was with her till Dilip was buried. Recently Shabana took to her social media handle to remember the Tragedy King Of Bollywood and treated fans with an iconic photo.
Taking to her Instagram handle, the Masoom actress posted an unseen throwback photo of herself, wherein she is seen with Dilip Kumar and politician Sharad Pawar. Sharing the post, Shabana wrote, “During the Mumbai riots #Dilip Saheb and me with #Sharad Pawar ji.” In the picture, the actress and the late actor can be seen with a file in their hands while talking to Pawar.
As soon as Shabana shared the click, fans started remembering the actor. One of the users commented, “He was a person who upheld the real spirit of secularism.His absence will be felt today.”

Speaking to SpotboyE.com, Shabana Azmi revealed that Dilip Saab was a patron of the arts. She said, “He had the good grace to be very respectful to poets and would attend many mushairas to honour them. Unknown to him I was his Eklavya and learned so much from him not only as an actor but also as the person he was.”
She added, “Whether it was for the National Association for the Blind or for Communal Harmony he was always in the forefront . During the Mumbai riots his house became a virtual rehabilitation centre for the riot victims . He led like a General.”
Shabana Azmi concluded saying, “We must not mourn Dilip Saab we should celebrate him .”
